How much does a psychology session cost at Thrive Psychology Services?

A standard 50-minute session is $220 and an extended 90-minute session is $315 (AUD). EMDR Intensive sessions of up to 4 hours are also available ‚Äî contact the practice for pricing. The same fees apply for telehealth and in-person sessions.

Can I get a Medicare rebate for psychology sessions?

Yes. With a Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you can claim a Medicare rebate of $98.95 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Do I need a GP referral to see the psychologist?

Accepted Answer

No referral is needed if you are paying privately or using private health insurance. A referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from a GP is required to claim a Medicare rebate, and documentation from your insurer or solicitor is required for WorkCover and CTP claims.

Does Thrive Psychology Services offer telehealth?

Yes. Telehealth sessions are available via Zoom across New South Wales. Michelle offers face-to-face and telehealth appointments Monday to Thursday, with Friday sessions being telehealth only. The same fees apply for telehealth and in-person sessions.

Yes. Thrive Psychology Services accepts WorkCover claims for workplace injuries and CTP (Compulsory Third Party) claims for motor vehicle accidents. Treatment is offered, though medicolegal or WorkCover reports are not provided.

What is the cancellation policy?

At least 24 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be charged the full session fee.

Yes, rebates are available depending on your level of cover. You cannot claim both a Medicare rebate and a private health insurance rebate for the same session.
